ATV ENGINE REMOVAL STEPS
*Remove battery and tray
*Drain all fluids
*Remove exhaust
*Disconnect breather hose at valvecover
*Disconnect oil hose or hoses where oil is drained
*Disconnect oil hose at back of motor
*Remove breather hose at coolant bottle
*Remove radiator
*Remove fan
*Loosen clamp holding throttlebody on motor lift throttlebody/airbox off slightly
*Remove nuts and clips pull injectors out wiggle till they come out
*Disconnect stator wire
*Disconnect temp sensor wire
*Disconnect coilwire
*Disconnect cranksensor wire
*CHECK FOR ANY ZIPTIES HOLDING WIRES TO MOTOR OR ANY HOSES OR WIRES NOT MENTIONED
*Put a tiedown strap around frame and under intake of motor
*Remove engine cradle
*Put floorjack under motor remove tiedown
*Pull swingarm bolt out just far enough to get motor out
*Lower motor using jack slowly LOOK for problems pull motor out left side
*To install just reverse order (be sure to loctite cradle bolts and install cradle bolts before installing front motor mount bolt.

ENGINE TIMING:
1.First thing to do is line up the timing marks like the diagram shows. It will take quite a few turns to get it like it shows and there is an easier way but this is the safest.

2.Next remove the tdc bolt and washer. Take a longer bolt of same thread size and round the end off on a grinder. this rounded end will fit in the indent in the crankweb. MAKE SURE IT IS IN THE INDENT AND ALL MARKS LINE UP.

3.Remove the bolt in the chain tensioner. DON'T lose the spring as it can pop out. Use a pick to push on the cam holding the tensioner rod in place. Push the rod all the way.

4.Remove the left cam chain tensioner and the oil bridge. Remove the cranknut.

5.You will now have enough slack to move the chain sprocket out enough to get the oil pump gear out without disengaging the timing chain sprocket fully from the splines.

6.When done, be sure the motor is still in time with the tensioners in place.
