Written by: Ralph the "BUGMAN" Date: Sept. 30th 2002 I wrapped up the 40+C NEMX series championship this weekend. Raced at Eagle Bridge MX park in Eagle Bridge NY. Hurricane Isidore left its mark by bringing its remains to the hills north of Albany NY, where EBMX is located. It was a MUDFEST!!!!!! The entire track had at least 10-12" of soupy mud and in some areas it was much deeper! Many of the quads could not make it around the track without getting stuck. Link to mud pic That is a pic of one of the little girls in my Read2Race.com program who dunked her head in it for 20 dollars! Moto 1: Holeshotted for the lead but I got passed by another racer who rides the mud much better than I do. I lost him and never came close to catching him. I fell in the last lap and had to pick up my bike which was buried in mud, and I got passed again. 3rd. Moto 2: Holeshotted again, but I got picked off right away due to my "amazing" mud racing skills. I had trouble the entire moto dealing with the conditions ( I am a fair weather racer, I guess!) and I ended with another 3rd. Third overall. I wrapped up the championship so, I decided to move up to B class for the last few races (I figured it would be nice for the other guys to win some too!) On Sunday, I raced my first B class races. Moto 1: Bad start, but got up to 3rd by the last lap, but I stopped short of the checkered flag so the guys who where in a points race in that class would not be losing any needed points. Moto 2: Good start, worked up to 3rd again and again I held back at the finish. All in all a great weekend! Looking forward to the B Series next season! The Bugman BTW: Wanna buy a bike? One slightly used C440 for sale. Won NEMX 40+C championship...need cash for next one! X440. |
