Hey all 'Dale'ers...
JP, Emar, jschner, BAdgas, Conan'Dale, gtms34 and all the others....you were right
on...thanks for the awesome write ups on this forum....thanks a ton....you told
the butt honest truth on the issues and +++ of the machine...thanx!...she is
sweeet!...I owe you all a beer...at least!
Serial #90:
Just got back from Break in and first ride in the tight single track here in
Washington state.
Need to get some chow in me, and all....
but realquick:
1. Took the SB and TB's in to the dealer and they did all the revs
"prior" to me picking her up. Sweet....I have one "AWESOME" dealership here at
South Sound Honda!...no questions when I brought em in.
2. Did the break in
by the numbers...Boy does this thing start easy!....wow oh wow.
3. This
machine is thin...thin .....thin....
4. Trottle response is beyond immediate...I will
have to get used to it...but thats a good thing.
5. I have never ever ridden a bike that had this linear of power
delivery...totally linear....regardless of the RPM if you want to
go...twist...like a reostat...couldnt ask for better power in the woods or
anywhere. No hit, just smooooooth pull....and if you want to get goooofy just
twist her harder.
6. Just like JP said...this thing roooosts...boy does it
throw stuff....my son called it an Automatic shotgun....he really didnt like
that part of it....
7. Ergos. Now I know
what they say about getting a bike to fit you. at 6'3" sitting to standing
transitions no issues and at the end of the day, as much as I love my WR250f...I
would cramp up in the thighs and calfs...not here...very very nice in the rider
compartment.
8. Did I say this thing is thin? Had to really focus on keeping
my boots against the frame....will take a bit of time to change HR...thats
okay.
9. Gripe time...What bafoooon thought up that tank? Dude...you need to
give up your food for a few days....black....gee thanks...love to be able to see
how much fuel I have....thank you very much...oh and that liter or so bubble in
the back...thats real good. Have to put the front wheel up on the trailer and
the rear on the ground to burp it to get a full tank....Nasa is missing a
scientist with whomever designed that....sheeesh....everything else so
sweet...and then that tank...goodness. Hope they come up with a mod to burp
it....that is nuts witheverything else to totally spot on.
10. Changes for
riding: Gear shift lever up one notch....and...wow....thinking about it..that
was it.
About 40 miles today, one plug (stock 9) no issues...flying to crawling over
rooots and logs and mud snotty puddles...and rocks....no problem.
Thing runs on rail road tracks...stable, stable....eats whooops for a snack
and it is a long way from the suspension being broke in....
and easy
starting...when we were loading and had it on the trailer to come home...my son
leaned on the starter while we were putting on the tie downs...she fired
up!...scared the #%**@ out of him....pretty funny.
So far....good run today...no fuses tripped, one plug the whole day, nothing
loosened up, didnt even adjust a single lever...clutch is effortless.....plan on
going for another ride tomorrow...so will put a better ride report together and
some photos after the ride...tomorrow...
Bottom line...folks what the other owners have been saying is 200% spot on.
Cannondale's hit nothin but net with this bike...the 440 motor might just be the
sweetest I have ever rode in the woods etc...but time will tell....oh...and boy
does it go through 5 gears quick.... goodness.....
More to follow....
