Well, I was going to go riding today so last night I started to swap out the stock Magura bars to Pro-Taper Universal Highs with TAG mounts. Easy swap until I wanted to mount the speedo and light switch assembly. NOT! TAG mounts are wider...so...after fussin with it late into the evening I said "Do it right, first thing in the morning." and went to bed. Didn't ride the next day even though it was the nicest weather this year in Western Washington! Not a good thing but, I got the fix and it appears to be clean and solid. The ride tomorrow will tell. I went to a boating supply shop and bought a new switch. The stock Dale switch isn't that hot. Same type of switch, but this one has LEDs in the switch paddles one red and one yellow. I plugged in Red for high beam and yellow for low beam. ![]() I made a mounting plate for the switch and after a little dremel work and a bit of black spray paint, here you go, with the rocker switch mounted. I put about a 15 degree bend in the mounting plate for easy reach. Next I mounted my Panoram directly to the Pro-Taper center section. I used a piece of front inner-tube as a buffer under the panoram mount (notched a "V" in the bottom of the mount to have more surface area with the Bar. I used grip cement to hold the rubber pad onto the bar. Then I dremeled a slot for a 5mm zip tie and there you go. ![]() With the Panoram between the TAG fat bar mounts, and with the rocker switch mounted using the hole from the front number plate that isnt in use with the E. Here is the switch and Panoram mounted on my E. No problem with room and it doesnt even come close to the headlight/number plate assembly. ![]() Last pic, and with me, the fact that it works...well.....thats a good thing (I break things for a living so go figure) The switch is pretty bright on both high and low beam, rocker is night and day different for feel (very positive) and with those folks having switch trouble, well, here is one way to solve your problem.
