Written March 30th, 2002 I changed my plug...it was fouled...dark black. I posted earlier I think it was because I did not wait the full 5 seconds between starter hits. I was not going to ride today. My brother broke his colar bone on the CR I sold him. This sucks big time. He is out for 2 months at least. Bust. After draining the oil I over filled. I headed out to Shales Pkwy riding area... At least that is what we call the semi-legal area we ride in. It was greasy out there from rain yesterday. My friend on his WR400F met me out there. I was worried I would foul another plug. Never happened. The FI does need some tweeking. It is a little sketchy off idle. But I'll tell you what...it hammers once the throttle opens. I was going to go easy after my bro got messed up but that did not last long. That bike supports the "if you suck, throw money at it" mentality. I am starting to feel very comfortable on it. I let my buddy take it for a lap. I rode the WR for a while. First you notice you sit in the bike (WR) more. The E is taller and easier to move around on. The E is much kinder to hard riding. The WR power hits harder at the top. I don't think its faster, the E just comes on more linear..as you have all mentioned. The E suspension is a lot better. The Ohlins are breaking in and getting softer. The E does feel lighter too. I don't have much to say that has not been said. The bike rocks. My friend Jim summed it up best when he said "This thing is serious". Did some hill climbing. It had no problems. I am so happy with this bike. A few guys out there dropped thier jaws when they saw it. I may be the only person in Chicago that owns a 2002. The cops were not to impressed with it. They kicked us out of the "south of rt 20" area. North of rt 20 is private so they can't say anything. The bike died a few times at very low r's. Need that FI adjustment. I am still high from todays ride. Next weekend I will get into some more technical terrain. Trees, steep hills, sand, single track...Ottawa, IL. I may post more later about todays ride. Gotta go...
